Jürgen Hess appointed Manager of the VGH Quality & Development Centre

Schwelm, April 2011 – Jürgen Hess (45) has been appointed Manager at the VGH Quality & Development Centre in Hilgert near Höhr-Grenzhausen. The Schwelm-based company, VGH Viktoria Garten Hüttenindustriebedarf AG, opened the new laboratory at the end of 2010.
Industrial ceramicist Hess learnt his profession from the bottom up and has over 21 years of experience including 14 years as industrial foreman in the ceramic and refractory industry. He started his career at Fleischmann GmbH in Offstein. Continuing from there he worked at Basalt Feuerfest based in Betzdorf, Westerwald. In 2002, Hess moved to Plibrico (later taken over by Calderys), where he gathered 9 further years of experience. His final position there was Laboratory Manager of the Quality Assurance at the Neuwied plant.
In his new position at the refractory specialist’s VGH, Hess will be managing the inspection and quality assurance of VGH subsidiary theramer’s shaped and unshaped products as well as the development of new products for the iron and steel making industries. A further focus for Hess will be the expansion of customer-specific developments and manufacturing.
