VGH expands activities in Eastern Europe

Schwelm, 7th October 2009 – Refractory solution specialists, VGH Viktoria Garten Hüttenindustriebedarf AG, have appointed a new Sales Manager to strengthen and expand VGH’s activities in Eastern Europe.

Martin Bortlik (49) is a graduated engineer who studied machine construction and who additionally qualified as a ceramics engineer. Bortlik, who was born in Upper Silesia, has gained over 20 years of experience in the steel industry’s refractory business. In his professional career Bortlik previously worked at RHI AG for a total of 11 years where, in his last position, he was manager of the subsidiary responsible for Poland, Hungary, (Former) Yugoslavia, Rumania and Russia. Following on from there and for the next seven years, Bortlik worked as a Technical Sales Manager at Refratechnik where he was responsible for the Polish market. Bortlik thus has not only well-founded technical expertise but also extensive knowledge of the local markets and a large contact network.

In his new position at VGH, Bortlik will be intensifying existing VGH business relationships in Poland in addition to focusing on winning new customers. His responsibility also covers the Czech Republican and Slovakian markets where he, as VGH’s new refractory expert, will assume sales responsibility as well as carrying out technical support and service.
