VGH team in Russia continues to grow

Schwelm, 27. November  2008 – VGH AG’s expansion strategy is continuing to unfold and now VGH announces a further increase in personnel in Russia to optimize customer relations locally. In the VGH subsidiary in Lipezk which was founded in July 2008 three new employees have joined the team.

The new Technical Director of the Russian VGH office is Eduard Gorbachev, a graduate engineer who learned his profession in the steel business right from scratch. Gorbachev’s first experience in the steel industry was with CHMK Chelyabinsk Metal Works where he worked in the production and became a foreman. Following this, Gorbachev studied engineering at the South Ural State University majoring in refractories. One of Gorbachev’s positions, prior to joining VGH AG, was as “Head of Engineering Centre” at Group MAGNESIT.

Two further new Key Account Managers are furthermore strengthening the VGH team in Lipezk.

“Three new professionals are bringing their technical expertise and years of experience in the business to strengthen VGH’s presence in Russia. This boosts our local competence extensively. It means faster reaction times and increased local technical service support, these are the criteria that we can fulfil with these new personnel measures,” says Thomas Gunther, CEO of VGH AG.

In 2009 VGH AG intends to also pursue this strategy of increased local personnel in the Ukraine.
